Objective

Our objective is to contribute to the realization of lasting peace in the world by conducting projects related to the creation of a “Multipurpose Emergency Rescue Mobile System” that will function both as an “Emergency Rescue Mobile System” in times of disaster and as a “Future-Creating Ship” that will create a hopeful future.

Philosophy

We aim to create a sustainable civilization in which humanity and the Earth coexist in harmony in the ocean.

We will work to harness the unlimited potential of the oceans to pass on a prosperous and peaceful planet to future generations.

[About Our Business]

Direction of the Foundation

Through the ocean, we will realize a peaceful and prosperous society and build a world in which all humankind can live in harmony.

We will provide a platform for ocean-based peace building, social stabilization, and co-existence and co-prosperity, and contribute to the advancement of a maritime civilization with peace and co-existence at its core.

Significance of Specific Business

1. Conservation and Restoration of the Marine Environment

The ocean is an important resource that supports life on Earth, and its environmental preservation is directly related to the future of humanity. Deterioration of the marine environment and collapse of ecosystems have a serious impact on global climate change and food supply. Our business is vital to preventing marine pollution, protecting biodiversity, and promoting sustainable resource use in order to pass on a healthy marine environment to future generations. In this way, we will lay the foundation to support the development of a lasting marine economy and local communities.

2. Research, Development, and Dissemination of Future Technologies

The development and diffusion of innovative, environmentally friendly technologies is essential to tackle global-scale issues such as climate change and resource depletion. Research and demonstration of future technologies such as renewable energy, utilization of abundant marine resources, and clean technologies are important steps toward the realization of a society that coexists with nature. Through this project, we will reduce the burden on the global environment and bring about significant changes in the lifestyle and industrial structure of the next generation.

3. Circular Regional Development

A recycling-oriented society is a sustainable economic model that reuses waste as a resource and reduces the burden on the environment. Our goal is to promote circular resource management and environmentally friendly development within local communities, thereby increasing local self-reliance and promoting environmentally friendly lifestyles. Through this project, we will provide a model for local communities to use resources in a recycling manner and achieve economic development that works with the global environment.

4. International Exchange

From a global perspective, cooperation across borders is essential for environmental protection and disaster management. By strengthening international collaboration, we can share technology, knowledge, and resources to promote sustainable development throughout the world. Through exchanges with different cultures and countries, we can deepen mutual understanding and work together toward common goals to find solutions to global problems.

5. Emergency Relief and Rescue Operations

In today's world of frequent natural disasters, prompt and effective response to disasters is essential to save many lives and minimize damage. Especially in coastal areas, where tsunamis, floods, typhoons, and other disasters occur frequently, our “Multipurpose Emergency Rescue Mobile System” can play a major role in rescuing lives, providing shelter, and supporting recovery efforts by utilizing the advantages of ships, such as their “mass transport capacity” and “self-contained nature". Through rapid assistance, we will facilitate reconstruction and rebuilding of communities in the affected areas and protect people's safety and security.

Achieving the Foundation's mission requires a flexible approach and multifaceted activities.

In order to  respond to new challenges and technological developments, and to create a sustainable future,we will launch and promote necessary activities and projects from time to time.

This flexible attitude is an important element in responding to the changing times and realizing the Foundation's vision of “creating a sustainable maritime civilization".

We, the Ocean Civilization Institute, were established to explore the possibilities for humanity to build a new civilization in the ocean and to lay the foundation for creating its future.

The global challenges we face today, particularly climate change, natural disasters, and environmental destruction, pose a serious threat to the survival and prosperity of humankind. Among these, the ocean is the source of life and the key to building a future in which the Earth and humankind can coexist in harmony.

"Creating an Ocean Civilization” does not just mean technological and economic development. We propose a new civilization in which humanity and the Earth coexist in harmony while taking advantage of the unlimited potential of the oceans. Our goal is to pass on a sustainable society to future generations, respecting coexistence with nature and utilizing renewable energy and resources. This is a grand challenge to rethink the entire planet through the sea.

Human civilization has evolved many times over the ocean. Just as ancient civilizations crossed the seas to discover new lands and exchange knowledge and culture, I am confident that we in the 21st century will be able to lay the foundation for the next civilization from the oceans.

〜Creation of a Multipurpose Emergency Rescue Mobile System〜

Project Seatopia, the foundation's first project, is the embodiment of this philosophy. In times of peace, it will serve as a “Future-Creating Ship” that researches and develops future technologies and eco-systems and generates useful knowledge for the benefit of humanity, while in times of global disaster, it will realize an “Emergency Rescue Mobile System” that will enable rapid relief efforts and assist people in difficult situations.

The ocean is a harsh entity that sometimes challenges us, yet its deep expanse and richness offer endless possibilities for humankind. With the help of the ocean, we will do our utmost to “prepare” for disasters and “create” a sustainable society at the same time.

〜For a Future in Which the Earth and Humankind Coexist in Harmony〜

The creation of a maritime civilization will be promoted through the conservation of the marine environment, disaster relief, and the development and diffusion of new technologies. Our wisdom, technology, empathy, and cooperation are indispensable for the realization of a society in which future generations can continue to enjoy affluence. Through the Foundation's activities, we aim to bring people around the world together to strengthen global cooperation and shape the future.

We are committed to building a prosperous and peaceful society, not only for the present, but also for future generations. With respect and gratitude for the unlimited potential of the oceans, we will challenge to realize a world where all people can live in peace and harmony with all life on earth.

We sincerely ask for your understanding and support of our activities.
